So this post is about swapping gauges for a civic. I bought some from someone on ebay for a really good price.
They are really well lit, and have a tac ...
The above picture is from when I took them out of the box. Unfortunately they didn't come with any instructions but that wasn't any big deal. It was simple enough to read the wiring diagram from the haynes manual. The hardest part was putting the stock speedometer in to keep the mileage the same.
The reason I wanted to do this is for smog and DMV reasons, the new cluster had 195K on it and mine had 105K so the DMV and my insurance company might ask some really bad questions about that. It was actually pretty easy once the cluster was out.
There are four screws holding the speedometer in place, and once they are removed it pretty much falls out.

Because the new cluster had after market gauges I wanted to keep those because they were better lit. I had to remove the needle to put the face one it. The speedo took some adjusting to get it right, and I ended up driving around without the plastic cover, using a GPS to help get the speed right. I also tried to take a picture of it without the flash and the lights on but it didn't come out.
All and all it was pretty simple to do and it adds some much needed lighting to the cluster for night driving.
And one other thing done to it last week was the cross drilled rotors were put onto it.
