So I as stated before the "great update" of the website, I am running Windows Vista on my desktop, my laptop, and my work machine. I am still liking it a lot. So far my only issue with it was one of my first issues with it. Bluetooth.
I am using a Linksys USBBT100 because it had the drivers and everything needed for it in XP. It didnt work there either. I think this might be more of a complaint about this device then anything else, but it does work, or did, as long as I let Windows control the stack. This means that there is only basic Human Interface Device(HID) support for it. In vista the defaults let me hook up a few other things as well, like My Phone, Windows Mobile Sync Center. This was joyous and gleeous and made me happy, for a week. The mouse worked perfect, it would be there if I put the laptop to sleep, suspend, or off. The phone worked great as well no matter what. The problem came up when I wanted to do a bit more with it, usually does. I started to think "Well this is LinkSys that are a MAJOR company, they would have updated drivers for this operating system that has been out for over a year"
HA HA
Put the linksys drivers for the device on the laptop and it works great while I am using my headset. No errors at all. I bring it in to office and re-sync my mouse. no problems until the mouse goes to sleep, then it wants a PIN key for the mouse. After looking at the mouse for a few minutes I gave up on the idea that I could enter a PIN on it.
So then I tried to connect my headset to show how bad Speech To Text is, and my headset would say connected but nothing came over.
Ok I have drawn this long drawn out story far enough, the point
Microsoft Vista + Linksys Bluetooth = SUCKAGE
Anyone have a GOOD bluetooth adapter for Vista?
